Questions People Ask Us

  • Koselig?

Koselig (‘koosh-lee’) is, to us, the feeling of being cosy, relaxed and happy with friends and family in a lovely place, with a nice atmosphere. Add in delicious bakes and tasty coffee and that is everything that we have wanted to create.

  • Where are you?

We are in 9 Westgate, Guisborough. Historically this building is known as the Seatory butcher’s shop which it had been for over half a decade. We occupy a listed building of which we take the utmost care of. We are fortunate to be near the Guisborough Town Hall which is now Shorty’s Gin distillery, luxury accommodation and an information centre.

  • Are you a bakery or a cafe?

We are a bakery that offers people the option to sit in. We make fresh breads, sweet bakes and sandwiches that are prepared with our own Focaccia.

  • Do you offer vegan or gluten free options?

Our bakery counter often changes but our breads are vegan, we have a vegan sandwich option and often do a vegan sweet bake. Sadly we cannot offer a gluten free option because of the limited space we have to work in

  • What to do in Guisborough?

Guisborough is a beautiful and historic town, boasting a priory, forests and is on the cusp of Roseberry Topping. There are so many fantastic and high quality independent businesses that really make Guisborough stand out and we’re proud to be a part of that. We neighbour the beautiful seaside towns of Saltburn and Marske and Guisborough is also the gateway to Whitby.

  • Are you allowed dogs in?

We do indeed allow well behaved dogs in, on leads. We ask that people be respectful of other’s space when bringing dogs in and make sure your pet’s paws aren’t super muddy!

  • Can I book a table?

Unfortunately not. We do not have dedicated floor staff and work extremely hard to work the counter and the floor so we are unable to offer this.
